HASSRA’s Olympic Torch Relay
To promote both the 2012 Olympic games returning to the UK, and HASSRA’s commitment to promote cycling as both a healthy recreational past time and a sustainable form of transport, we are planning an Olympic torch relay. This relay will involve cyclists from all 12 HASSRA regions biking over 2012 miles, to arrive at the University of Lancaster for the HASSRA Special Event. 6 teams of cyclists with a minimum of 4 riders in each will depart their start point and travel to the University of Lancaster, arriving on mass at the HASSRA Special Event. Along the way they will pass through all 12 HASSRA regions and collect additional riders from those regions:
