Welcome to Athletics

The CSAA (Civil Service Athletic Association) arrange an annual calendar of athletics championships in which HASSRA athletes compete on an individual and team basis against athletes from other Government Departments.

HASSRA enters a National Representative Team into all these events and a certain standard is required for selection. For example, in the case of the 10k Road Race, Cross Country and Road Relays the following applies:

Men:

Senior Sub (less than) 37.00 10k

Veterans (aged 35 years and over) Sub 40.00 10k

Women:

Senior Sub 45 min 10k

Veterans Sub 49 min 10k (aged 35 years and over)

However, the Team Managers do have discretion to select athletes who show the potential to better these requirements.

As the events are open to all CSSC (Civil Service Sports Council) Sports and Leisure members, HASSRA athletes not meeting these standards can apply to their Regional CSSC for funding. If there are any problems, please contact Nick Hume.
