HASSRA Fylde Golf Society

• The Fylde Golf Society has around 45 members and organises seven monthly outings during the season from April to October with an average of 20 people attending each event. These are either 18 hole afternoon or 27 hole full day outings. In addition there is a summer matchplay comp, a 2-day golf break and assistance towards representing the Fylde in regional and national golfing comps.
• The society program of chosen venues offers variety ranging from low cost, value for money courses to prestigious northwest clubs. Member’s subscriptions are used to subsidise the society’s activities and for nothing else. The Society is indebted to HASSRA Fylde and North Fylde CSSC for the financial assistance it receives and so to continue to benefit from this, Society members must be either full or associate members of both HASSRA and CSSC.
• The society is friendly and our objectives are to enjoy golf. We have no formal dress code but do adhere to the dress rules of the club we were visiting. The program of courses varies every year and aims to offers many things such as good courses, easy travelling, cheap and/or good value and reflects what the members want. We do have a competition at each event including ‘2s’ and nearest-the-pin but this does not have to be taken too seriously, the main aim is to enjoy the day.
• At the AGM it was agreed to keep the membership subscription at £10 for 2009 and also that new members will also receive a £5 voucher which can be redeemed when attending a Golf Society outing. If you are interested in hearing more, or joining the Golf Society then please get in touch.

A 36 hole qualifier will be held on Thursday 27th May 2010 at Ashton & Lea Golf Club.

This is a FREE competition open to FULL HASSRA Members who have an official club or EGU handicap.

The winners will be selected to represent HASSRA Fylde in the National Finals at Alwoodley Golf Club, Leeds on Th/Fr 12/13 Aug 2010.

HASSRA Fylde Golf Matches 2011

HASSRA members with an official golf handicap who are interested in representing Fylde in this year's matches should apply to Mike Cass E507, Heyhouses, Heyhouses Lane, Lytham St Annes  Tel: 01253 744527 E-MAIL (michael.cass@eds.dss.gsi.gov.uk) giving handicap and contact information.

The matches are:

• 6th May v North West at Penwortham Golf Club

• 1st July v Yorks and Humberside at Stand Golf Club

• 11^th/12^th September 3 way match at Hollins Hall. This match will be played over 2 days, pairs on Sunday afternoon, singles Monday morning.

The evening meal forms an integral part of the event i.e. socialising with/and respecting your opponents and is partly funded by HASSRA with those objectives in mind. Obviously exceptional domestic issues can arise on the day which can not be foreseen.

However that situation aside, if anyone feels unable/unwilling to stay for the evening meal, please let me know and I will find a replacement.
